Taming the Frizz: How One Product Replaced All Others

I have very thick 2A type hair: All frizz all the time. My hair will tolerate straightening or curling pretty well, but that takes time and effort. I'm much more of a wash-and-wear sort of girl. Unfortunately, this usually means my hair is an unattractive poof that ends in a messy bun by late morning. Because of this, I am always on the lookout for hair products that will tame the frizz without any effort on my part.

I found the solution in an unassuming sample bottle of dry oil I received in the mail from Influenster. I wasn't expecting much, but knew I had to try it out. I am so glad I did. Three drops of this oil removes any need for my leave-in conditioner, detangler, or anti-frizz serum.

The first time I tried the NUXE oil, I put it in after my regular leave-in conditioner, and I put in *way* too much. I'm talking about five times as much as I put in now. It took a lot of dry shampoo to rectify that mistake. The next time I used it, I still used my leave-in conditioner and only put in one drop of dry oil. That was enough! I put in less and less conditioner each day until eventually I stopped using conditioner altogether.

That is the only difference. Astounding, no?

My daily hair routine now (at least, when I wash it) is quite simple: 1) Wash my hair in the shower with shampoo. 2) Towel dry until damp. 3) Add three drops of NUXE oil to my hair (working mostly into the ends). 4) Use the Wet Brush Shine brush to brush the oil through my hair. 5) Go about my day.

On days when I need to curl my hair or otherwise style it in a way that requires some extra hold, I'll add a little mousse after the oil, then brush that through with the regular Wet Brush. Then I can style as usual.

I have friends who use this oil on their faces and they swear by it. I have *incredibly* acne-prone skin, however, and the littlest thing will have me breaking out for weeks. I have a good routine going right now, so I see no reason to introduce another product that could make me break out. None of my friends have had that issue, but I'm overly cautious when it comes to products that go on my face. Maybe I'll try it someday. If I do, I'll make sure to update this post with a link to the new results.

You can see the difference right there!

Have you tried NUXE oil? Did you love it as much as I do?
